Mother's Day Idea: Etched Glass
The Idea Door Blog had this great Mother's Day idea on their blog...to etch glass. A vase, a cake pan or a plate...how great! I love personalized gifts and wouldn't any mom love something you make her?? Check out how easy it is on the Idea Door blog.

Dream Kids Room
HGTV did it again...I absolutely loved this room and was thinking I should talk my hubby into remodeling our bedroom to be like this...I get the top bunk though!! Check out more pictures on HGTVs website.

Zipper Flip Flops
Now these are original and creative, don't you think? Flip flops at the craft store are going to run you $1.99-2.99 at the most, the zipper a couple more dollars...and the end result, priceless. If you'd like to see how easy these are to make, check out this step-by-step flip flop tutorial.

Cupcake Liner Carnations
What a fun way to create flowers, especially for gift wrapping!! Martha Stewart will tell you how to create these fun cupcake liner flowers.

Silhouettes for Mother's Day
When I was about 7 years old my family went to Disneyland. I remembered one of the souvenirs my mom wanted for herself were our silhouettes. There was a little shop that they would "hand-cut" our head shapes out and frame them. I have no idea what she did with those, but I was so excited to see this tutorial online. But no hand-cutting here, it's all done on the computer. How fun would it be to have these of your children as they are growing up...even if you put them in a scrapbook. Be sure to check out the great tutorial posted at Crafty Chicks blog.
Awesome Crafting Table
I'm continually amazed at how small this world is...and a couple of weeks ago proved it. I was visiting a great neighbor of mine and I mention that I've worked in the scrapbook industry for these past 13 years. He was shocked and excited because the company he's working for has created this amazing craft table and is hoping to start marketing it soon. Here's a sneak peek of the first prototype table and with luck I'll be able to share more in the near future!!
Felt Rosettes
This post is for Amy...I thought you'd love those fun spiral roses made from FELT!! Found this one on the Mrs. Priss blog too.

Floral Ring Tutorial
I've made these before as hair clips and scrapbook layout embellishments, but never for jewelry...aren't they the cutest little things. And because I love step-by-step tutorials I couldn't resist sharing this post from Mrs. Priss blog.
I think part of the reason I add etsy shop finds to my blog is so I remember where I need to go back to and BUY from when I have money!! Loved this gals necklaces and how she packages her product...a definite must order from shop for me.

Recycled T-Shirt Bags
In honor of Earth Day, I found this cute idea on the Martha Stewart website on turning old t-shirts into bags. There is a video tutorial available, but you have to suffer through about ? minutes of Martha teaching you about gourds (fast forward to about 5 minutes into the tutorial to get to the t-shirt portion).

Dear Lizzy Flower Tutorial
Yep, another GREAT flower tutorial from Dear Lizzy (Liz Kartchner) on the American Crafts blog. Oh so sweet and I'll be trying these this weekend!

Bread Sticks with a Twist
For all my friends that I've dragged to the Pizza Factory, this post is for you. We LOVE their bread sticks that they twist around a wood dowel and I found this yummy recipe posted over on Kara's Kitchen Creations.
Here's how you do it....

Dough:
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp SAF instant yeast
3 1/2 - 4 cups flour

Glaze:
2-3 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dill weed
1/8 tsp Italian seasoning

Combine water, sugar, salt, yeast, and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead for 3-4 minutes. On greased countertop, break off pieces of dough and roll into thin ropes that are about 1 1/2 times the length of your skewers. Twist the rope around the skewer and place on a greased cookie sheet. Repeat till all dough is used. Let twists rise till doubled, about 30 minutes. While they are baking, combine the glaze ingredients so the flavors will blend. Bake twists at 375 for about 12-15 minutes or till golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with the butter glaze.

Finally Spring...and things are Green!
My favorite color is NOT green, but I saw this posted on another blog under "favorite flickr images" and I loved it. So I'm sharing!

Lee and Lou Etsy Shop
Of course by now you all know I love flowers...paper, fabric, how to make, already made and I happened on this one Etsy shop this week called Lee and Lou Handmade Originals. Here's a peek at what she is creating....

Favorite Finds for the 13th Week of 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, we sure did. However, I notice that as my kids get older our holiday traditions change a bit, but I'm okay with that. This week's post will be short...really busy this week.

Yummy Colored Mini Staplers
I love my scrapbook staplers...I own a mini stapler, I wish I owned the tiny attacher from Tim Holtz and I absolutely love my Stampin Up rotating stapler. But how about these fun little staplers and I think you should have one of each color so you never have to change out the colored staples. These are Zenith Staplers from Germany.

Digital Scrapbook Sale!
I'm a huge fan of "The Ettes" an they're celebrating Fayette's 49th birthday by putting everything on sale for 49% off. Personally I thought was only turning 29, but the discount doesn't sound good enough, so thank heavens I was wrong. I love to use their artwork for invites, sign-up sheets, images for cards...so even if you're not a huge digi scrapbooker, you will want to grab a few of their collections (or more)! Jump over to their online store and click on "Dig-Ette-al Kits" for the best value!!

Whooo Loves this Card?
I downloaded the digital art for this cute owl from Two Peas in a Bucket about a month ago. It use to be a Hero Arts stamp and I'm not a big time stamper, but digital line art...I'm all over that. So I printed it out on cardstock, colored it with my very cool Tombow Markers, added a little Glossy Accents to part of the owl and Ranger Stickles (glitter) to other parts and voila...dang cute card. Oh then I couldn't resist adding a little bling to the card using the new i-rock gem setting tool from Imaginisce.
New Stephenie Meyer Book?
Not sure about this, but wanted to share the news for those of you that didn't know Stephenie is releasing a new book, due out in June! Here's a description: Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

Cake Pops
I've shown these before, but was hoping by posting about it again that I'll actually give them a try...who couldn't resist these yummy little pops? Crafty Chicks posted exactly how to do these and hopefully inspired more of us to give them a try!
Next week let's shoot for an early week post instead of end of week post!! Thanks to everyone's help and support during this stressful week with Kirk's surgery and work projects....it's very much appreciated!!

Dear Lizzy Ribbon Card

Yes, I do scrapbook sometimes...and every since I purchased this darling ribbon the other day and have been dying to use it...it's from the Dear Lizzy line from American Crafts and can I say that they need to make this ribbon in about 10 more colors...I'd buy it all!! I should note that the darling white pearl studs you see on the butterflies and the scallop are from the new Imaginisce i-rock program...can't wait for everyone to get to purchase these when they hit stores in June!!

Supplies Used: Dear Lizzy Lovely Ribbon, Dear Lizzy Picking Pansies Paper, Imaginisce Glam Rocks-Pearl, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

Favorite Finds for the 12th Week of 2010

Did you realize we're 12 weeks into the 2010...only 40 more to go before it's over?? I also heard on the radio the other day that on April 11th we will have worked enough hours to have completely paid our federal and state taxes off...the rest of the year it's our money. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about learning that. Is it good news, or sad to think that we've just worked almost 13 weeks just for our taxes??

Okay, sorry...here's my favorite finds for week 12!!

Easter Printables
If you're anything like me, you've completely spaced that this weekend is EASTER...ugg! Between my husband's birthday and Conference weekend I totally didn't plan for this and so I'm scrambling trying to come up with some cute ideas for friends and family. Loved all these fun "free" downloads over and Skip to My Lou's site.

Easter Ice Cream Sandwiches
It wouldn't be a proper blog post if we didn't do something with food, right. I loved this fun idea and how easy the instructions make it look. Thanks Twig & Thistle for yet another yummy idea!

From Grocery Eats to Easter Treats
Gillian posted the cutest ideas on her blog for easy treats. I loved all of them and had a really hard time figuring out which ones to feature, so be sure to jump over to All the Small Things blog and check out the rest of her cute ideas.

My Easter Thoughts
I would just like to take a quick moment to express my gratitude to my Savior for his sacrifice for all he did for me. And I'm so thankful this weekend to focus on his resurrection. I know he LIVES and loves each one of us! I pray you and your loved ones have a great Easter weekend and focus on Jesus Christ and not so much the candy (wink...so much less fattening that way too)! Here's a short video message I really wanted to share. Love ya!
