If you've been on Pinterest then you've seen the "jar" Pins floating around for some time. You can paint them, tint them, create light fixtures and apothocary jars. Join me as I show you a lot of fun ideas on how you can craft with something as simple as the mason jars sitting in your pantry.
TIP & TRICKS: I thought doing this with a hot glue gun was hard to control the flow and design. I found puff paint worked much better and was simpler to control. Doesn't matter what color because you'll be painting over it. And instead of free handing the writing or designs, try printing what you want. Tape it to the inside of the jar and write on the front of the jar. Let dry and then paint!
Be sure to join me next week me next week when I show you some fun ideas on recycling things around your house. I promise it's a fun episode!!
Disclaimer: Pinterest is a great place to find inspiration but not all pins lead to blogs. I tried to only pick those ideas that I could find the original creator and give credit to. Please take a moment and check out these great blogs because without them I wouldn't have content to talk about on the new My Craft Channel show Inspired by Pinterest. If you've never been to Pinterest and would like to check it out, you need an invite to the site to gain access (I don't know why). Just leave me a comment with your email and I'll send you an invite. However, I cannot be responsible for the time you will be spending on Pinterest!!

Most of the tutorials I found used a pattern and scissors to create the shapes, but I found that PUNCHES worked much, much faster and easier. So pull out your punches and see what you can create!! Oh and I really loved coating the punched out pieces with Ranger's Glossy Accents. It gave the pieces a bit more weight and kept them on the jump rings (definitely a must have for this project).
Be sure to visit my Pinterest TEEN SCENE Board for my ideas with soda pop cans! And a big shout out to my super, awesome daughter Emma. We had a lot of fun doing this episode and I think she rocks!! I'm not sure I can talk her into doing it again, but what a great memory we have together!!
