Lori, I call these Modern Day Boa's. Feathers shed so much and really are not acceptable in today's society, but these scarfs are. LOVE THEM! Great job on the video.
Here is an idea to try -- skip every 2nd loop and put 10 to 15 loops (total of 20 -30 loops used) on the hook and then pull through or loop over like you did in the video, this makes a much fuller scarf and I get one 6-8 ft scarf from each skein of yarn. I agree, very relaxing while watching TV
For the fabric material - not the fabric you showed, but the fabric with the holes cut in the fabric, put 4-6 loops on the hook and then pull the next loop through. Again, this makes a really full scarf. Still takes only 1-2 hours (depending on how good the TV program is).
I keep going until I get to the end of the yarn. That way, whenever I sell or give one away, I can adjust the length for that person.
To end the scarf I pull the yarn through the last loop and then just tie the end in a knot and cut off the extra. If you want to be sure that it is not going to come apart, you could add some fabric glue or elmer's glue to the middle of the knot. The ruffle will hide the knot.
I really like the metallic yarns (you can use more loops per ruffle with the metallic yarns. I have about 25 or 30 scarfs so I guess I better sell some or give them away.
Oh, they now have a Sashay Mini which is a more narrow ruffle. Great for little girls or ladies that think the wide ruffle is just too much.
Hi, I'm forever looking for new scarves, hats, etc. I'm just getting ready to start Radiation treatments as my Chemo has been done for quite some time now. I'm battling breast cancer and loved these when I saw them! Always looking for a way to look prettier and feel better. You mentioned possibly giving some away? Well if this is something you do decide you want to do then please let me know. My husband is I'll also and has been unable to work for almost 3 years now and we are always just trying to get by and any donation or help would be so much appreciated. Thank you,
