Creative Spaces Volume 2 NOW Available + Giveaway

I'm so beyond thrilled to announce that the new Creative Spaces Volume 2 is finally available for purchase. You might remember that I announced I'd be part of this amazing idea book in my Announcement post. Then not last week I shared a fun blog post showing you a little bit of the Behind the Scenes in this post.

But I was even more thrilled to see my photo and my craft space in the actual magazine. Did I mention after seeing the first issue it was my goal to make it into the next one. Thanks to Megan Hoeppner and the Creating Keepsakes team, I actually accomplished a GOAL!!

Here's some posts about my space that are not things that were featured in the Creative Spaces article.

First off, I love using Vinyl to personalize my space. Be sure to check out how I did that in my Creative Ways to Use Vinyl for Home post.

I'm always looking for storage ideas that help me "show" my craft items. I firmly believe if you cannot see what you have, then you will not use it. So be sure to check out my blog post about how I incorporate Jar Storage into my craft space that I will post next Tuesday.

GIVEAWAY
The folks at Creating Keepsakes offered my the chance to giveaway a copy to my followers to celebrate the new release. Simply leave a comment here on my blog and tell me how you prefer to store your ribbons and buttons? You'll have until Monday, Jan. 14th to enter and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, Jan. 15th.

More chances to win...
And to offer you more chances to win, be sure to check out the following blogs. My friends and both My Craft Channel and Doodlebug are doing giveaways as well.

Congratulations on the publication of your creative space. I store my ribbon in small plastic jewelry bags that I purchased from HL after I remove them from the roll and then place them in a large Option Tub in rows that I have made with chipboard by color. Compact and easy to take when I travel. My buttons are stored in antique jars and antique spice rack with glass jars. Easy to see and small buttons separated by color hues. TFS pammejo1@yahoo.com

I keep my ribbon on the spools and in baskets on my pegboard.....out where I can see them and easy access. For my buttons, I keep them in jars out where I can be inspired by the colors.

Congratulations on being in the magazine, I would love to see it! I found a great way to store ribbon where I can see it, and travel with it. I use a very large travel jewelry/hosiery bag. The pockets are clear, and I can hang it where I'm working, or roll it up and travel with it. I actually have a couple of them sorted by color.

I have never in my life won something so I'm keeping my fingers and eyes crossed. :) I just recently subscribed to Allred Design and hoping she is my Good Luck Charm. The way I keep my ribbons is on a closet rod in the closet and they are colorized, I pin them with a large safety pin and hang them on a large binder ring. When I'm crafting I just open the closet doors and there they are all pretty and bright. As to my buttons they are all in a large fish bowl. I just love to spill them on my craft table and pick from there, as for my vintage buttons they are in a separate vintage bin. I'm always interested in learning more about organizational skills.

I need serious help in my craft room. But I do have my ribbon on spools (with scraps in clear jars) and my buttons are in jars and some in little drawers on my desk. Excited to see you in the mag!! Love your videos and you have inspired MANY of my projects!!

I like to wrap my ribbons by color families around chipboard that has a crescent moon cut out of it. (This helps it stay on) then put a paperclip or tape to secure it to the chipboard. Then put them in a long photo storage protector page.

Buttons I am also sorting by color following Tiffany at the Scraprack's organizational style. I am just starting so I will let you know how I like it once it is done! TIA! God bless!

Congratulations! So exciting! I completely agree about how if you can't see it you won't use it, at least I won't. My buttons are also stored in jars. My ribbon I hang from a curtain rod that is hung on the back of my scrap room door. Works wonderfully well for me and keeps me from collecting more than I would use a space is limited.

It all started when I would play with the buttons that were stored in my great aunt's treadle sewing machine. When my aunt died, I got those buttons. I inherited some buttons from my mom. If extra buttons came on clothes, I kept them. I use to cut buttons off of clothes that were being discarded. I use to store my buttons in tins, but now I store my buttons in jars according to color. I love all of the different colors and shapes. I store my ribbon in slanted jars; they are very colorful when on display. I so love to see how everyone else organizes their crafting spaces.

I store mine in a shallow drawer near my crafting table.

I like storing my ribbons and buttons in jars so they can also serve as decorational pieces.

I use clear plastic bins/containers. I put what is inside on the outside. That way it gets put back in the correct place.

OOh - can't wait to see! My buttons are mostly in small divided boxes with lids. I also have some in a cubby in my Workbox. My ribbons - the majority is in a ribbon box by The Original Workbox Company. The rest are in a very frustrating ribbon holder on my wall. Every time I try to change anything about the ribbons, the dowels fall out and all of the ribbon falls on the floor - which my cats love! I am seriously looking for better storage options.. lol.

BIG CONGRATS on making it into the issue!

I had a home decor project in the first one but some day I dream to have a space nice enough to be worthy of a feature!

I store my ribbons in a plastic container (for those on spools).
Ribbon off of spools I store in bags inside a storage box - each bag has ribbons only from one manufacturer. (This makes it easier to reference when working on projects for publication.)

Buttons I keep in a divided plastic container (I believe it is meant for beads). I separate them by color in each divided section and have one container for miscellaneous source buttons and another one or two containers for buttons from specific manufacturers. (Mainly Foof-a-la - I don't know if they even make buttons anymore...I honestly hardly ever use buttons in my crafting.)

I store my ribbon on dowels mounted on my wall. I can just pull what I need from the spool! I love it! My buttons are in mason jars sorted by color!

I have always stored my buttons in an old leftover Christmas tin that fruitcake used to come in. My grandkids love it because there are so many different types of buttons, old and new. I like to wrap my ribbons around old paper towel rolls and store on garage sale-found vertical paper towel holders. Cheap, but effective!
