I'm so beyond thrilled to announce that the new Creative Spaces Volume 2 is finally available for purchase. You might remember that I announced I'd be part of this amazing idea book in my Announcement post. Then not last week I shared a fun blog post showing you a little bit of the Behind the Scenes in this post.
But I was even more thrilled to see my photo and my craft space in the actual magazine. Did I mention after seeing the first issue it was my goal to make it into the next one. Thanks to Megan Hoeppner and the Creating Keepsakes team, I actually accomplished a GOAL!!
Here's some posts about my space that are not things that were featured in the Creative Spaces article.
First off, I love using Vinyl to personalize my space. Be sure to check out how I did that in my Creative Ways to Use Vinyl for Home post.
I'm always looking for storage ideas that help me "show" my craft items. I firmly believe if you cannot see what you have, then you will not use it. So be sure to check out my blog post about how I incorporate Jar Storage into my craft space that I will post next Tuesday.

I have my buttons mostly in old metal nut containers that I inherited from my mother. That is how she kept her buttons.
Congratulations!! So exciting!!
I definitely need to get more organized... I would love to store them in cute apothecary jars!
I keep my buttons in little jars from IKEA. (They look like miniature cookie jars. So cute.) Sorted by color family. My ribbons I keep in Ribbon Keepers from Stampin' Up!.
Thanks,
Kathryn Whittaker
I think it is so Cool that you are in this mag, so awesome!
I store my butttons in a huge glass jar and my ribbons are stored by color in a tower of stacking containers. It works for me :)
Ribbon I have the scraps in an apothecary jar the my ribbon on bolts is in a trunk. My button are in a apothecary jar also! And congrats on being in the magazine so cool!!
Congratulations on the publication of your creative space. I store my ribbon in small plastic jewelry bags that I purchased from HL after I remove them from the roll and then place them in a large Option Tub in rows that I have made with chipboard by color. Compact and easy to take when I travel. My buttons are stored in antique jars and antique spice rack with glass jars. Easy to see and small buttons separated by color hues. TFS pammejo1@yahoo.com
Congrats on your space recognition in this publication!
I would really love to see this copy!
As for my ribbons and buttons... they are all in assorted jars. Buttons all together mixed up and ribbon all sorted by colors!
I keep my ribbon on the spools and in baskets on my pegboard.....out where I can see them and easy access. For my buttons, I keep them in jars out where I can be inspired by the colors.
It's jars for buttons for me too. My gift wrapping ribbon I keep on my gift wrap cart from The Container Store - (check out http://www.containerstore.com/shop? I love it! I even bought it before I started working there.
I store my ribbon on hangers and my buttons in antiques jars salvaged from my family's drycleaning business.
I store my ribbon in boxes and my buttons in clear jars.
Congratulations on the magazine feature Lori!! I keep my ribbons in the 7 drawer storage cart, and buttons in the organizer box with a lid. :)
I just throw mine in a large clear flour jar...I love seeing all the colors & different buttons...when I'm crafting, I dump them out onto a cookie sheet and start a gluing! Congrats on the magazine...what a cool thing!
My buttons are in tea jars and my ribbon is in a holder by Simply Renee. LOVE it!
I have my buttons in the container my Tim Holtz markers came in and my ribbon is in large bins on paper spindles.
Congratulations on being in the magazine, I would love to see it! I found a great way to store ribbon where I can see it, and travel with it. I use a very large travel jewelry/hosiery bag. The pockets are clear, and I can hang it where I'm working, or roll it up and travel with it. I actually have a couple of them sorted by color.
I have my ribbon on a dowel and I have buttons in magnetic containers that attach to a panel on the wall.
Buttons are in Making Memories jars :) Ribbon is either on a rod or in embrodiery floss holders or on round cloths pins in a basket. I have WAY TOO MUCH RIBBON!!1 (Oh I did not just admit that) Still working on orgnazing my space. Definitely keeps me on my toes. Would love to win the book, thanks for the chance. Love the use of vinyl to label things.
I have my buttons in the Doodlebug plastic containers. My ribbon is on 3 different dowel rods. Would love to win this book! I have been searching everywhere for it. Thanks!
Congratulations, I love this publication!
Store my buttons in old canning jars and ribbons in drawers(which doesn't work) but haven't find
anything that works for me.
I love old and unique tins, so that is where I store my buttons and some ribbon. Love your blog!
Jan B.
I love to make my space beautiful and well a organized. I can't wait to see the new book. Thanks for the chance to win, sure hope I do!
Congrats Lori, I know it will be great.
Oh my gosh...I would love to have this book. I am forever organizing and as much as I love your blog, I know your ideas will be great!!

I keep my buttons in small clear jars and my ribbon in a plastic boxes labelled by colors and my left over ribbon in a large glass candy jar.
how cool that your in the zine! I have my ribbon on long (5')storage racks out where I can see them. I am not a big button person so I have those in jars if loose and on the card if that's how they came. I have semi see through containers that I label on the outside and I put it with the labels out so I can read it. in the past I was 50/50 on what direction they faced. trying to do better. thanks for the chance to win.
7My buttons are in 3 round cookie tins and my ribbons are in 7 hat boxes I need this book and help!!!! Thank you for this great giveaway.

I have never in my life won something so I'm keeping my fingers and eyes crossed. :) I just recently subscribed to Allred Design and hoping she is my Good Luck Charm. The way I keep my ribbons is on a closet rod in the closet and they are colorized, I pin them with a large safety pin and hang them on a large binder ring. When I'm crafting I just open the closet doors and there they are all pretty and bright. As to my buttons they are all in a large fish bowl. I just love to spill them on my craft table and pick from there, as for my vintage buttons they are in a separate vintage bin. I'm always interested in learning more about organizational skills.
OOPS!! can you tell I'm new at this. Maybe this is why I don't win anything I forget to leave a contact. :)) My name is Gloria Hidalgo ghidal59@aol.com
I have a jumble of organizational items in my craft room, my ribbon pieces are in a 3 tier hanging wire basket (usually for veggies) its hung from a hook, tiny spools of ribbon are on wooden dowels that poke through the chain on the basket and larger ribbons spools are in ribbon keepers

I need serious help in my craft room. But I do have my ribbon on spools (with scraps in clear jars) and my buttons are in jars and some in little drawers on my desk. Excited to see you in the mag!! Love your videos and you have inspired MANY of my projects!!
I like to wrap my ribbons by color families around chipboard that has a crescent moon cut out of it. (This helps it stay on) then put a paperclip or tape to secure it to the chipboard. Then put them in a long photo storage protector page.
Buttons I am also sorting by color following Tiffany at the Scraprack's organizational style. I am just starting so I will let you know how I like it once it is done! TIA! God bless!
Congratulations! So exciting! I completely agree about how if you can't see it you won't use it, at least I won't. My buttons are also stored in jars. My ribbon I hang from a curtain rod that is hung on the back of my scrap room door. Works wonderfully well for me and keeps me from collecting more than I would use a space is limited.
It all started when I would play with the buttons that were stored in my great aunt's treadle sewing machine. When my aunt died, I got those buttons. I inherited some buttons from my mom. If extra buttons came on clothes, I kept them. I use to cut buttons off of clothes that were being discarded. I use to store my buttons in tins, but now I store my buttons in jars according to color. I love all of the different colors and shapes. I store my ribbon in slanted jars; they are very colorful when on display. I so love to see how everyone else organizes their crafting spaces.
I store mine in a shallow drawer near my crafting table.
I like storing my ribbons and buttons in jars so they can also serve as decorational pieces.
I use clear plastic bins/containers. I put what is inside on the outside. That way it gets put back in the correct place.
OOh - can't wait to see! My buttons are mostly in small divided boxes with lids. I also have some in a cubby in my Workbox. My ribbons - the majority is in a ribbon box by The Original Workbox Company. The rest are in a very frustrating ribbon holder on my wall. Every time I try to change anything about the ribbons, the dowels fall out and all of the ribbon falls on the floor - which my cats love! I am seriously looking for better storage options.. lol.
BIG CONGRATS on making it into the issue!
I had a home decor project in the first one but some day I dream to have a space nice enough to be worthy of a feature!
I store my ribbons in a plastic container (for those on spools).
Ribbon off of spools I store in bags inside a storage box - each bag has ribbons only from one manufacturer. (This makes it easier to reference when working on projects for publication.)
Buttons I keep in a divided plastic container (I believe it is meant for beads). I separate them by color in each divided section and have one container for miscellaneous source buttons and another one or two containers for buttons from specific manufacturers. (Mainly Foof-a-la - I don't know if they even make buttons anymore...I honestly hardly ever use buttons in my crafting.)
I store my ribbon on dowels mounted on my wall. I can just pull what I need from the spool! I love it! My buttons are in mason jars sorted by color!
I store my ribbon in an over the door shoe hanger and my buttons in a "tackle" box. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I store my buttons in mason jars and my ribbon in drawers.
i love your paper storage.. i store my buttons in jars mostly and ribbon on spools still looking for the perfect ribbon storage. Would love to win this copy!
I have always stored my buttons in an old leftover Christmas tin that fruitcake used to come in. My grandkids love it because there are so many different types of buttons, old and new. I like to wrap my ribbons around old paper towel rolls and store on garage sale-found vertical paper towel holders. Cheap, but effective!
